Plein Air Fundamentals

Longing to go outdoors and paint the beauty of nature, but feel intimidated or don’t know how or where to start?  Join us for a weekend in Centerville, Texas and learn the fundamentals about painting en plein air. 

Award-winning artist Laura Williams will lead us in exploring painting gear, composition analysis, and how to get started.  You will have the opportunity to paint, receive individual instruction and feedback, and share in group discussions.  

When:     Saturday and Sunday, October 21 & 22, 2023, from 9:30am until 6:00pm on Saturday, with a boxed lunch and a Ranch Dinner with our visiting artist discussion in the evening. Sunday from 9:00 am until 2:00pm with a closing gallery show.

Where:   Centerville. Texas – Halfway between Houston and Dallas. Details of where and when we meet and accommodation options are included in the logistics package included with registration.

Who:       This workshop is for those familiar with various media including oils, acrylics, pastels, pencils, and watercolors.

Workshop tuition is $250 per participant and includes some meals and refreshments.
